Support Jen Sterling's Fight Against Cancer

Spende geschützt
Update: July 11 marked one year since Jen’s cancer diagnosis. In the last week, she has seen most of her medical team including her oncologist and surgeon. While she has developed some chronic health conditions from the Keytruda, chemo, and radiation treatments, her labs looked the best they have in months. She should have the results of her latest Signatera test soon and is continuing to work with her doctors and naturopaths to manage the new health challenges and meets each day with as much energy as she can muster.

The Sterlings are incredibly thankful for all the support from their family and friends over the past year.

Update: Jen is fighting new battles as she continues her radiation and deals with life changing and life threatening side effects from the Keytruda she received during her chemo. Please check the updates below and continue to keep Jen and her family in your prayers.

Update: Thank you to everyone who has supported the Sterlings through Jen’s cancer diagnosis, chemo, surgery, and recovery stages. She is scheduled to begin radiation soon. Check the updates for more details, and thank you for your continued support and love as we help Jen reach the finish line in the hardest and longest race she’s ever faced.

Those in the mushing world know that Jen Sterling is a fierce competitor. Whether it’s competing in sprint mushing races across North America, supporting husband Nathan in Rondy, home schooling their son, training dogs, or just daily living in Willow, Jen always puts forth 110%. Now, Jen is turning that energy and toughness toward fighting cancer.

After finding a lump in her breast in June, Jen had a mammogram and then biopsies. On July 11, she was diagnosed with triple negative Stage 2B grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. Jen’s cancer fighting team includes an amazing oncologist, naturopath, surgeon, her family, and many friends. However, some of her providers and treatments are out of network or not covered by insurance, resulting in thousands of dollars in out of pocket medical bills.

As one of her close friends, I am starting this GoFundMe page to help cover those unmet expenses. Please consider donating and sharing this page so that Jen and Nathan can keep their focus on Jen’s treatment and not have to worry about finances. All monies go directly to the Sterlings.

Last week, Jen received her port, and she is scheduled to begin her first chemotherapy treatment tomorrow. As Jen’s treatments progress, I will provide updates on her progress and their financial need.
