Support Janet's T-Scan and Bone Marrow Transplant Journey
Spende geschützt
In May, Janet was diagnosed with AML. At that time she was hospitalized for 39 days at Gundersen Lutheran in LaCrosse. At the time of discharge it was believed Janet had two options to be cured of the disease. One was a chemo regimen with maintenance dose of chemo for several years, or a bone marrow transplant. With a reoccurrence of leukemia after the first intense round of chemo, it was determined the only option for being cured was a bone marrow transplant. After meeting with a team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and at Mayo Clinic, the decision was made to proceed with the transplant through Mayo Clinic. While patiently waiting for a bone marrow match to be found, Janet has continued to handle chemo treatments like a champ.
We found out last week, that Janet has two solid matches and will proceed with the transplant process starting next week with a transplant date tentatively set for November 26th.
The bone marrow transplant process is a long one! Janet will be in Rochester for 100 days. She will need a caretaker with her during this time. Our family is working to organize a schedule for caretakers. Even when Scott is not serving as a caretaker, he will be commuting back and forth several times a week to visit for a short time in the evenings. At this time we are setting up a GoFundMe page to help provide some financial support to ease the burden of added expenses through this process. Funds will be used for lodging expenses, food, transportation and medical expenses. If you would rather Venmo. It can be sent @Nicole-Ondrashek
Thank you so much for your support and for being part of Janet's Journey!
We are also setting up a meal train to support Scott on this journey. Please find the link below!
