My brother-in-law, Ira, affectionately known as “Crazy,” is bravely facing a combined kidney and liver transplant. This incredible opportunity comes after Ira’s dedicated efforts to regain and maintain his health, working tirelessly to qualify for this life-saving procedure. The recovery period is expected to last two months, during which time my sister will be taking leave from her job to provide full-time care for her husband. As this will leave her without income for two months, she will need assistance to cover basic necessities and the significant expenses associated with traveling out of state and maintaining a temporary residence near the transplant center during Ira’s recovery.
