Canadian Indigenous Youth Facing a Suicide Crisis

Suicide is the leading cause of death for Canadian Indigenous youth, where the rates of suicide in some areas are as much as 33 times higher than for non-Indigenous populations. At least three First Nations communities have declared states of emergency over suicide crises in the past 3 months, with victims as young as 10 years old.

We are raising money to support these communities. If you ever played sports growing up, you know how they bring people together and connect communities. Importantly, being part of a team has positive impacts on both mental and physical health. Our first goal is to provide new sports equipment for the children of Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation School. Help us to surpass our fundraising goal, so that we can provide sports equipment to children in all of these communities, and more.
