Greetings!
My name is Hannah Jackson and on May 10th, 2025, I will graduate from Howard University with a degree in Music Business. This June 2025, I have the tremendous opportunity to present a research project at the Global Business Anthropology Summit at Chuo University in Tokyo, Japan.
A team comprised of Howard University faculty and students, we will present our project examining representation of Black individuals in marketing, a study entitled “Myths in Afro-Descendant Representation Across Japanese and Chinese Marketing Communications: The Realities of African and African Diaspora Representation in Arts Marketing Communications."
Since starting on the project in September 2024, I have embraced the entire research process, which includes a mixed-methods approach and the diverse, multidisciplinary background of our team. Working on this project and attending this conference in June is a pivotal moment for my research career, as I am also preparing to begin my graduate studies in musicology at the University of Maryland this Fall 2025.
As my first international trip and to ensure I have the most culturally enriching experience as possible, I am seeking financial support. Any donations you can offer are greatly appreciated, and will be used towards my lodging, meals, and other associated costs.
Thank you so much for your time!
