Dear friends and family,

Our amazing friend, Victoire, is facing one of the most difficult moments of her life. Her beloved mother in Burundi is bravely battling stomach cancer. This week, Victoire will be traveling home to support her mother and family during this critical time.

As many of you know, Victoire is a devoted mother of two energetic little boys and a dedicated teacher who pours her heart into her students and community. She is someone who uplifts others with kindness and care, and now it is our turn to lift her up.

Victoire's mother is her rock and her anchor. She is the only parent Victoire has known. Her father was tragically killed when Victoire’s mother was eight months pregnant. Victoire was born just one month and eleven days after his passing.

A retired school teacher, Victoire’s mother depends fully on her family for support. Unfortunately, medical equipment and treatment options are limited in Burundi, and the family is also exploring the possibility of transferring her to another country for care if the visa process and funding allow.

On top of these heavy medical costs, Victoire is also responsible for contributing to her household income in Atlanta. She will be taking three weeks off of work to travel to Burundi, making financial support even more critical as she balances caring for her mother in Burundi and her family at home in Atlanta.

Use of Funds

Your contribution will go directly to Victoire and her family to help cover the following costs. Please note that these costs are an estimate as expenses are continuously rising.

Medical Expenses for Victoire’s Mother – $11,000

Hospital stays, treatments, medications, and ongoing care.

Emergency & Unexpected Expenses – $4,000

Flexibility to cover unforeseen costs, including potential treatment outside Burundi.

Family Support in Burundi – $1,000

Food, transportation, and household expenses while caring for her mother.

Travel Costs – $2,500

Airfare and accommodations for Victoire’s trip to Burundi.

Childcare & Family Needs in Atlanta – $1,500

Support for her two boys while Victoire is abroad.
