Support for the tragic loss of Lucia

Donation protected
Our friend and co-worker, Stephanie Martter’s life was forever changed last night.  She lost her precious three-year-old daughter, Lucia in a tragic accident.  We are reaching out for financial support for Stephanie and her four surviving children.   If you don’t know Stephanie, she is a loving mother of five children and a long-time emergency room nurse.  If you do know Stephanie, you know that she is one of the most hard-working, energetic, dedicated, kind-hearted persons you will ever meet.

While Stephanie had just left a 12-hour shift at the hospital where she was helping to save lives and care for strangers, she had no idea she would soon be arriving on the scene of the accident involving her very own beloved children.  As a nurse, it is second nature to respond in an emergent medical situation, but no person should ever have to be in a situation of a parent fighting to save their own child’s life.  Stephanie did just that while awaiting her daughter’s transport to her very own place of work, where her co-workers did all they could to save the life of her sweet Lucia.

Stephanie is the last person to ever ask for or expect a hand-out of any kind.  She goes above and beyond her expectations as a nurse at the hospital.  She always cared for her five children effortlessly while managing their school work, sports, and activities.  She successfully started and operated her own home-based business during her time off from the hospital, all while managing her own small farm and garden, and remaining passionate about health and wellness.  Stephanie is a faithful member of her church and school in which she has brought up her children.

Stephanie and her family are dealing with pain and sorrow unimaginable to most of us.  No words or donations will bring back her beloved Lucia, but we are asking for your support for this family as they try to heal. This tragedy occurred during National Nurses Week and only three days before Mother’s Day, and as Stephanie has seen the worst situations as a nurse and has surely encountered the many struggles we all face as parents, there is nothing in this world that could have prepared her for this.   Please consider donating to help ease the struggle she and her family will undoubtedly face.

Thank you for your support and prayers…
