For those who don't know me, my name is Shannon, and I'm raising funds to support my beautiful sister, Stacey, and her family through the most difficult chapter of their lives.

Freshly 40, fit, healthy, and with a newfound appreciation for exactly who she is, Stacey was embracing life. She is an incredible mum to Finn (6) and Kai (4), a supportive wife to Brad, and had just started a new career after more than 20 years in the same industry. After a year filled with exciting new beginnings, alongside the heartbreaking loss of our mum, Stacey was finally finding her feet again and thriving.

Then, in April this year, everything changed.

Stacey became unwell, seemingly out of nowhere. She was experiencing bloating and pain, so she went straight to the doctor. They found a tumour on her ovary, but initial testing suggested it wasn't likely to be malignant.

Just weeks later, she was back in hospital. Her abdomen had filled with so much fluid that her previously flat stomach looked as though she was heavily pregnant.

After countless tests and procedures, our family's world was turned upside down.

Stacey was diagnosed with advanced metastatic bowel cancer.

She has since undergone major surgery and is now focusing on recovering enough to begin aggressive chemotherapy. Right now, every bit of her energy needs to go towards healing and giving herself the best possible chance.

While we can't take away what Stacey, Brad, Finn and Kai are facing, we hope to ease some of the financial burden that comes with a diagnosis like this.

From mortgage repayments and utilities to groceries, childcare and everyday living expenses, life doesn't stop because cancer arrives. Going from two hardworking parents to relying on a single income while Brad balances work with caring for Stacey and the boys will place enormous pressure on their family.
