On Tuesday 14th January 2026 my best mate Adam and his family received the heartbreaking news that after on going tests Adam was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) a terminal progressive and currently incurable condition that affects the motor neurons, the nerves that control voluntary muscles.

With further testing an official diagnoses of FTD (Frontotemporal Dementia) and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) was given.

FTD-ALS are related.

They are progressive neurodegenerative diseases, that overlap in the same patient, affecting both cognitive/behavioral functions and voluntary muscle movement.

Diagnosis & Prognosis:

There is no cure, but therapies for both aim to manage symptoms. Diagnosis involves assessing both cognitive/behavioral changes and motor function.

With Adam and his family now having to navigate these 2 debilitating diseases, the Eldridge family are now all adjusting to a new life. A forever changing challenging reality — one filled with many hospital appointments as Adam is cared for, for the rest of his life by a team of specialists and with the difficulty knowing that their remaining time together as a family is limited.

As Adam is no longer able to work funds raised will go towards medical care and helping Adam live as comfortably and fully as possible.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to easing the financial burden and showing Adam, Sam, and family that they are not alone.
