Support for Heather and Anna Wine

It is with deep sadness we have all learned of the passing of our friend Mark Wine, who died unexpectedly on the night of November 18th, leaving Heather, his wife of 26 years, and his daughter Anna Kate.  Everyone is saddened and heartbroken over this terrible loss. 

Mark was larger than life and loved by many.  He touched many people with his generosity, passion and sense of humor.  He brought joy to everyone around him.  

Family and friends meant the world to Mark.  To those who knew him, he’d recount many stories about his siblings Victor, Radford, Rodney, Sherry, his Mom and Joe, his family, his many friends and shared experiences with them.

Mark never knew a stranger, he treated everyone he came in contact with love and respect--people in local stores and restaurants knew him on a first name basis.  Like Christ, he loved all people for who they were. 

There are many challenges now facing Heather and Anna Kate.  Heather has worked at home since the birth of their daughter. Mark was the sole bread-winner of the family.  Many may not have known that Mark lost his full-time job a few years ago, and had incurred significant debt since then.  Mark had invested a great deal of his time and finances into their home in which he was in the process of finishing a major remodel, done almost entirely by his hands.  Their plan was to finish the remodel, sell the house, and find a less expensive home in which to live. 

This sudden tragedy has left Heather and Anna Kate without any funds or means of earning an income at present.

The remodel work on the house is almost completed, but there are many items that remain to be finished.  A sizeable group of their friends in the Dallas area are planning on pitching in their time to help complete the remodel work and place the house on the market as soon as possible.  Even with the free help, additional funds are needed to finish the house quickly.    

If you knew Mark, you knew he would not hesitate to give assistance to a friend.  In this same spirit of giving, we would like to help Heather and Anna Kate, by establishing this fund specifically to help finish the remodel work and to financially support Heather and Anna Kate during this difficult transition.  With time, Heather will find a way to support her family.  We think in this small way we can help Heather and Anna Kate establish a small bit of normalcy during this very difficult transition.
