Support for Dr. Lawrence Chanza

Donation protected

Hello my friends,

In 2017, I met my friend Dr. Lawrence Chanza at the AANP Naturopathic Convention. He is a naturopathic doctor from Zambia, Africa. He also runs a naturopathic school there. He had a dream of visiting University of Arizona and meeting some of the doctors in the Program in Integrative Medicine. I was able to assist making that dream a reality for him.

Fast Forward to 2020 and the pandemic. Things are really rough in Zambia. Distribution chains have broken down. Food is scarce and so expensive. Dr. Chanza’s patients can’t afford to pay him. His family was starving, literally. I was able to send him money. $600 paid for 2-2.5 months of food. I did this a second time and realized we needed a better solution. Like most families in Zambia, there is no running water in the house and no drinking water. Purchasing water for the family is expensive.  My goal became to help him have a well drilled professionally on his property, then get chickens, who can provide eggs to be eaten manure for a garden, then grow food in his backyard to feed the family.

I’m wondering if any of you might feel interested to donate towards this project.

Dr. Chanza and his family do so much for so many. I feel they just need a break.  When his family’s needs to survive are taken care of, he can then focus on expanding the community clinic that treats patients by him and the naturopathic students at his school. And that’s good for everybody!
