Support for Basinger Family

It’s with immense sorrow to announce the passing of Zachary Basinger on Monday, December 27th at 6:00 PM.

Zac was diagnosed with Mesothelioma on December 22, 2011. This would be the beginning of a journey that incorporated many doctors and treatments across many state lines that also included significant dedication and sacrifice to home care.

On Christmas night, Zac and family made the difficult decision to forego a final trial treatment in New York so that he could spend his remaining days with loved ones.

Throughout Zac’s journey, and especially through the most recent years, Zac’s wife Chelsea and mother Lynn had been his primary caretakers. During this time, while also working full time, Chelsea and Lynn put their lives on hold to ensure the best quality of care was provided to Zac.

Zac’s hope for his caretakers had always been that they were taken care of like he was by them. Zac expressed wishes were that if people wanted to make donation in his honor/memory it would benefit the ones that sacrificed the most during his illness. His wish is to alleviate some of the financial burden that was amassed over the years and to assist Chelsea and Lynn to be in a position to move forward with their futures as their contributions of time, money and energy accumulated over time could be eased.
