Support for Alison's son Jake Hayes

My name is Bob Young and I created this Go Fund Me to benefit Jake Hayes, the only surviving child of our good friend, Alison Kealy Hayes, who passed on August 2nd after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Two years ago, Alison was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Initially, we were very hopeful that Alison would have more time with us. Unfortunately, in July, Alison began having trouble breathing and after a month of bravely fighting with everything she had, Alison eventually lost her battle as the cancer had spread to her lungs.

After her diagnosis, Alison was determined to live her life to the fullest. She decided that she would “say yes to everything.” She definitely put her words into action by traveling, spending time with her son Jake, going to dinner, spending time with friends and family, and, most importantly, being there for her son who recently graduated from Chelmsford High School.

Alison was the proudest mom and guided her son to be caring, compassionate, and humble. She was so proud of Jake and was so excited that he will be attending Merrimack College in the Fall. She was looking forward to being there for Jake when he moved into college and I know she fought as hard as she could to be there for him. I know she was excited for Jake, not only because she told us, but also for what I discovered when backing up her iphone photos after she passed away. In her Amazon cart ,while she was sick, Alison had placed a bedding set, storage containers, pillows, and posters for Jake's dorm wall. She was doing this with the hope that she would be well and wanted to make sure that Jake had everything he needed to be successful.

I created this fundraiser to help Alison's son, Jake, with bills, expenses, tuition, books, and anything else he may need at this time or in the future.

Please help Alison's son with the challenges he may face. Alison was a great friend to all of us and was always there when we needed her in times of difficulty.
