My family is facing an unimaginable tragedy. My parents were traveling back home to Colorado with my cousin after their house caught fire due to an electrical issue in their kitchen. While they were in New Mexico, their truck rolled multiple times in a devastating accident. My mother passed away at the scene, and my father and cousin were both airlifted to Lubbock, Texas for life saving measures. My father remains in critical but stable condition, still on life support, and my cousin is currently undergoing surgery. We are now forced to plan a funeral for my mother while my father is still unaware of her passing. This horrific tragedy has been devastating to our entire family. Trying to grieve the loss of our mother and plan her funeral while still being bedside to our father, hooked to tubes and praying he pulls through, has been overwhelming.

All of my parents' children live in Colorado, and the financial burden of traveling between Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico is significant, but nothing compared to the emotional pain. That instead of the financial strain is overwhelming.
