Larry & Marla McKenzie first opened the doors to The Firehouse Restaurant & Lounge to serve the great community of Florence, Oregon in 2002. Since then this hard working, family owned business has served local residents and vacationers hot meals with a loving smile. Community is of utmost importance to the owners and staff. Local Veterans often enjoy meals at discounted rates, or even free of charge, throughout the year in support and appreciation for their dedicated service to our country.
As so many are aware, the year of the coronavirus destroyed many small businesses. The Firehouse Restaurant & Lounge owners worked tirelessly to keep their staff employed, and customers fed, during this challenging time. The restaurant industry is a service of love to its community. More often times than not, restaurant owners are challenged with maintaining a desired level of quality in food and service, while struggling behind the scenes to pay the never-ending costs of keeping a brick & mortar operation open.
Larry, Marla and their granddaughter Kylie are humble folk, who have dedicated the last 19 years of their life to serving their community of Florence. If their local patrons asked for Karaoke night, they made it happen. If there was a request for live music, the owners went out of their way to make sure they had a band play live once a week. For so many in this community, The Firehouse Restaurant has consistently been a safe and comfortable place for families and seniors to enjoy a warm meal, and welcoming vibes out of the cold weather along the coast. Many folks see this store as an extension of their home.
