Our family has been facing an incredibly difficult journey as our 17-year-old daughter Fionna battles Chronic Migraines, Bipolar disorder, and other diagnoses. The last five years have been filled with challenges, but this past year has been especially hard. In February, Fionna experienced a mental health crisis and was admitted to the ER, then transferred to a psychiatric hospital for 11 days. Since then, she has been in a Partial Hospitalization Program for over two months, working hard every day to heal. The program has been helpful and coming to an end but she will continue outpatient therapy.

On top of her mental health struggles, Fionna’s migraines have become a daily battle with no relief. She has endured countless tests, ER visits, two separate five-day hospitalizations, outpatient infusions, and tried many medications and treatments, but nothing has worked so far. Watching her suffer for years has been heartbreaking for our family. The mounting medical bills from hospital stays, doctor visits, and ongoing treatments have put us in financial distress. My husband is working extra hours, but it’s still not enough to cover everything. In excess of her large medical expenses, I am overwhelmed with more expenses with the rest of our family’s medical needs.
