Support for Erica Garza

Unfortunately Erica’s brain trauma was too severe. She was removed off life support and passed shortly after. The family is now grieving the loss of her as well as trying to plan her end of life preparation's. Please consider donating as we thought we had raised enough funding, but after Go fund me had taken their cut, it was no longer enough for the cremation and memorial services. We are grateful for any and all help during this difficult time. Even a prayer is so so so appreciated. Thank you everyone for your support. Hi all, thank you for visiting this go fund me and for your consideration in donating to our family in such a difficult time. My cousin Erica Garza (who is 20 years old) was out with her boyfriend and friends in downtown Austin, Texas on Mother’s Day morning. While crossing the street they were intentionally run down by a blue sedan who sped off after impact. Witness accounts say it was intentionally done and it happened in a well lit area so there was no way this person did not see them crossing. Her boyfriend suffered a broken leg but is stable. Erica however, suffered severe brain trauma and had to get part of her skull removed to relieve pressure on her brain. She has not regained consciousness since the accident occurred. Cops are not communicating well with her mother or saying whether or not they have leads to find who did this. We found a witness who made a Reddit post about the accident and have connected them with the cops to make a statement. Both him and his uber driver witnessed the accident and called 911 and spoke to the police prior which was not communicated with the family until we found the witness ourself and reached out. Erica has been declared brain dead by doctors. Her brain swelling is substantial and she isn’t responding to any outside stimuli the doctors are giving her. All her organs are currently healthy other than her having the substantial brain swelling. We are trying further avenues of medications and treatments before we believe what the medical team has told us as we believe in miracles. My aunt and family isn’t ready to give up and she remains on life support in Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin. The doctors believe she won’t pull through from this brain trauma but we know God is a healer and has the final say. They are accruing a large amount of medical debt while Erica fights for her life in ICU. We are still hoping for a miracle and don’t want finances to have any determining factor in her care or support system. Any help would be so appreciated. I am doing this application on behalf of Erica’s mom, Christina Ibarra. She has been in the hospital with Erica since Mother’s Day 2025 and her other daughter (2 years old) is being looked after by family while she is staying with Erica. We are looking for more witnesses. The news channels have not reported on the incident as of yet but we have been reaching out to news sources begging them to run this story.
