Support Emily during her cancer journey
For those of you who know Emily, you know she's a fighter. She was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF1) as a baby and has had multiple tumors removed over the course of her life.
On Sunday, July 18, Emily had a seizure at work and was taken to the hospital. After further tests, it was discovered that Emily had a brain tumor that appeared to be something more serious than an NF tumor. Emily underwent surgery and the diagnosis was a grade II astrocytoma tumor, which will require chemo and radiation. The chemo will be taken orally for 42 days, while the radiation will be done on site for six weeks, Monday through Friday.
Family and friends have been so supportive during this time and we can't thank you enough! Many of you have asked how you can support Emily and her husband, Lewis. Emily will be out of work for the foreseeable future due to her treatments and weakened immune system. Any contribution will help Emily and Lewis with lost wages, medical bills, chemo and radiation.
Thank you for your continued support, thoughts, and prayers - Keep them coming, because Emily has a challenging few months ahead, but she continues to be a fighter.
