Support Ellie & Her Family: To both Heal and Thrive

Hello! Our names are Maddie and Ashley. We have both gotten to work with and become friends with Ellie for a little over a year now. We can’t explain how amazing of a woman this lady truly is. She’s not just a coworker, she’s a friend, a partner, a teammate, a mom and a fighter! We’ve watched her struggle with this dang hip long enough! While Ellie is strong and resilient it’s finally time to get her the treatment she needs! With that being said the family is asking for a little extra support from whoever is willing to offer, in whatever form that looks like for you. All donations will be sent to the family to help with doctors appts, surgeries, medical bills and more.

A small message from the family we are working to support!

“I’ve been a nurse for 10 years, mama to 5, partner to a hooligan, named Casey and lately, luck just hasn’t been on our side.

In fall of 2023, I tried to take on a woodpecker that was pecking a hole in the side of our house. It swooped at me and I tripped over our dog Goose and fell on my left hip.

Long story short, I had surgery in March 2024 to fix a labral tear in my hip, as well as cam and pincer impingement. Basically, my hip was too big and things ripped, for the less medically inclined. As for those of you who know, the nurse curse was in full force that day and surgery didn’t quite go as they had planned. But we pivoted and I was determined to get back to my active life.

For months, I tried rehabbing with PT, dry needling and injections with little to no improvement.

Then in April, Casey became nearly debilitated with back pain and ended up in the hospital discovering disc disease and a herniated disc. Further complicating our chaotic lives and deepening our medical debt.

And just a couple weeks ago, I ended up in the hospital myself with excruciating back and hip pain. We ran tests, got more scans and discovered my labrum is torn again and I’ll need another surgery not only to repair that but to also repair the capsule of the hip joint and fix more of the impingement. I’ve been warned the revision surgery is a brutal recovery. I’m not expected to be able to return to work for nearly 12 weeks.

While the bills are starting to pile up, one crucial med cost more than we could ever imagine. We are asking for help in anyway possible. Meals, a ride to PT or appointments, help shuffling kids to and from their activities. Anything helps.

We can’t thank those enough who have already showed up to help. Who have sent messages, flowers and sweet treats just to brighten our days.

With love, Ellie, Casey & the kids”
