Support Aleksandar`s education at Harvard

It is my great pleasure to introduce myself and kindly ask for support studying at Harvard Kennedy School. I am delighted for the opportunity to study public policies and put them later to use in Serbia, by deepening my work in helping diaspora return home. I am particularly proud of all activities I contributed to in the past years which have helped our people from abroad move back home, develop careers and invest in Serbia or cooperate with their place of origin.
I wish to spend next two years at Harvard Kennedy School to deepen my knowledge and represent my country, as only the second person ever to represent Serbia in this program. In addition to admission to the program, I received a prestigious scholarship JFK fellowship from the University, which covers the costs of tuition, health insurance, and related fees.
The next step is much more challenging for me… and that is finding funds for living expenses for a start in a period of one school year, more precisely nine months. Harvard estimates the annual cost of living is $ 27,000, including accommodation, food, and other expenses.
Therefore, I am launching a fundraiser which will hopefully bring me closer to fulfilling my dream of studying at Harvard. Every support, regardless of the amount, is highly appreciated! The educational experience at Harvard will challenge me and transform me for the better, helping me bring positive change to my country and communities around the world.
Short biography:
I am currently working as an Associate for Circular Migration at the Returning Point (https://tackapovratka.rs/), a program launched in late 2019 to support the return of our highly educated diaspora. Through the constant communication with our diaspora, my task is to identify challenges and opportunities and formulate and implement public policies that will contribute to a greater return of people, investments, and better communication of Serbian society in the diaspora and at home.
Additionally, for the past four years, I am transferring my knowledge and experience to assist youth activism, entrepreneurship, and the environment in Serbia. As a Managing Board member of a local NGO in Serbia (https://afirmacijakulture.org/), we are developing projects educating youth to become active citizens in their communities and initiate positive changes. The project I am most proud of is the Lighthouse of Knowledge (https://svetionikznanja.rs/) which has already involved 360 high school students from Serbia to develop 90 youth initiatives under the motto „We are already changing the world“
