Get Dorothy to Virginia and back…
I am not one to typically reach out for help or assistance. I am also not one to share all the details of what has been going on in our private life. However, it has come to the point where I must ask for help…
Dorothy has been struggling deeply since the death of her father last May. We have tried grief therapy, counseling, changing schools, and so much more. Things have escalated to a point where, for her own safety and mental health, we are going to intensive in-patient therapy. She has been accepted into a program in Virginia that comes with amazing reviews and a high success rate. Thankfully, we have met our out-of-pocket with insurance (slowly getting all the past medical bills in the mail), so this treatment should be covered at 100%. Should being the operative word here.
That being said, last-minute flights are not cheap… along with all the medical expenses that have piled up. I am asking for help to cover the costs of getting Dorothy to Virginia and back home once she is released, as well as the time I’ve had to take off work, etc.
We are asking for $6,000 to cover the flights round trip 2 times (intake and discharge), hotel accommodations for the nights I’ll have to stay in Virginia, and a little extra to cover the mounting medical debt that we’re slowly receiving bills for. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. Anything that goes over what we are having to pay out of pocket will be donated to the Kaleidoscope Grief Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families who have lost loved ones.
Thank you all so much. For those who have been by our side during this time, thank you. We are blessed to have a wonderful team around us.
