Support Dave’s Fight Against Cancer
Spende geschützt
Dear Friends of Dave and Vicki Johnson:
Dave and I were roommates and soccer teammates at Emory. As you know, Dave was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck and is currently undergoing a rigorous treatment of chemo and radiation. If you haven’t visited the Caring Bridge page Vicki and Dave created, you can follow his battle with cancer there. https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/davidjohnson33
If you are like me, as soon as you heard the news, you asked yourself “How can I help?”
Recently, Dave and I were talking about the challenges he faces owning and operating his two related small businesses – Johnson Partners Landscape Contractors (design/build) and Innovative Outdoors (maintenance) – while going through treatment. Johnson Partners provides the bulk of the revenue to sustain Innovative Outdoors as it grows, not to mention the income it provides his family.
The cancer treatment severely saps Dave’s energy and strength, limiting the amount of work he can do and business he can generate. The next 3-4 months will be trying as Dave transitions from the end of treatment to recovery and sustainability.
I’m asking you to consider contributing some money to Dave and Vicki – it’ll help him keep the businesses going, get them through this rough patch, and allow him and his family to focus their efforts and concerns on getting healthy. Many of you recall Dave as a tenacious competitor. He certainly is. And I’m certain you also know him as a kind and caring friend. I know he’s going to do all he can to beat cancer, but Dave and Vicki need our support. And I know if I was in the same situation, he’d try to do something like this for me.
I know that you, Dave and Vicki's friends and family, have been rallying around them already with an outpouring of love, support, and encouragement, so thanks in advance for anything you can contribute to Dave and his family. (Before launching this fundraiser, I discussed it with Dave and Vicki and they thank you in advance for your support too, though I'm sure you'll hear it from them personally!)"
Sincerely, Rick Monk
