Support Damaris' Fight Against Cancer

Hello! My name is Damaris. I am a single mom of two beautiful girls, ages 19 and 13. We were living the best life we could ask for. I was diagnosed in 2022 with colon cancer and had surgery to remove it. All was well for the next two years.

About 2 months ago, I started feeling very tired and weak, and had a hard time catching my breath. I do have a heart condition which would make it a challenge, but I still went to work and took care of my kids. Mid May, it got too severe where I could barely walk, so I went to the ER only to find out that my cancer has spread to my liver, lungs, and stomach. It took us by surprise because a month prior, everything was fine.

I was admitted to the hospital on May 29 to be able to control my heart rate, and it took over 2 weeks to finally do it. At the same time, I received chemo, but it just weakened my body and it has been a struggle to get stronger. I am just pleading with some support for my kids while I am battling this fight. I had to give up my job and my apartment during this time. Anything helps. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
