Update: The truck is road legal thanks to the help of previous donations! Now due to changes with Medicare part D I have lost my prescription coverage until October and both my appeals were denied. The cash costs of my prescriptions are $288 per month, so I'm hoping to get help with that in addition to a $60 mobility aid (rolling stool to help me get around the apartment while cleaning). I'm having the worst arthritis and muscle spasm flare I've had in years and am struggling to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. The stool will help me keep up with vacuuming, dishes, and other chores I can't stand lang enough to do right now. After that I'll still need to replace the catalytic converters on my truck to prevent long term engine damage; the quote for that is in the description below. I was hoping to feel much better than this for my birthday, but unfortunately I still need help rolling with the punches. Thank you for all the continued support!
Hi friends, fam, and anyone who may read this,
My name is Cyric and I'm a disabled volunteer for several Non-profits in the Northeast. I do wildlife transport, wildlife rehab, and rescue dog transport from New York to Maine. While my health isn't great, I do everything I can to make a difference for wildlife and rescue animals in my region. While these Non-Profits help me as much as they can with fuel costs; the wear and tear on my truck is starting to show. I'm reaching out to ask for help with repairs, and if by some miracle more than the goal is raised, help with medical expenses (I need new knee braces, compression wear, and am struggling to afford increased medications costs).
I know the economy is affecting all of us hard right now, but even $1 brings me closer to staying on the road and doing the volunteer work that is so deeply important to me. The current list of repairs on the Xterra is a catalytic converter, rear brakes, possibly wheel bearings, transmission is acting up (could just need a fluid change, may need repair), spark plugs, timing chain, I also made it through the winter without heat and now my AC is starting to go. While climate control is considered quality of life I do need working heat and AC to provide safe temperatures for the animals I transport; including my own two wonderful dogs.
I have applied for a dozen or so credit cards and personal loans this year but my annual income just isn't enough for a lender to consider me. If anyone would like more specifics about those efforts feel free to message me. I'm also happy to provide references for the volunteer work that I do.
If you aren't able to donate, no worries! Please just share this link and hopefully it will find people who can help <3. My only other request is please drive carefully and brake for wildlife!!
P.S. If you know of any mechanics local to Manchester, NH that might be willing to donate some work to help wildlife please put me in touch with them!
All of my thanks,
Cyric Riley
