Support Cynthia Swinney's Cancer Battle #SwinneyWomanStrong

Hi, my name is Lindsay Tanner, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing mom, Cynthia Swinney.

In April of 2023, our family faced heartbreak when my father passed away. My mom, Cindy, was left to carry the weight of everything on her own. Less than a year later, on February 5th, 2024, she was diagnosed with cancer in her right kidney and ureter. She bravely underwent surgery to remove both, along with 8 rounds of chemotherapy. We were hopeful when doctors declared her cancer-free.

But in January 2025, we received devastating news: a new tumor had appeared near her aortic valve, in a location that made surgery impossible. Now, my mom is enduring 34 rounds of radiation and 3 more rounds of chemo to fight this cancer once again.

Despite all of this, she still works full-time—unless she’s too sick or in treatment. Even then, she makes up her hours just to keep her health insurance. Her strength is unbelievable, but the toll this battle is taking on her physically, emotionally, and financially is overwhelming.

My mom is the heart of our family. She's spent her life putting others first—always giving, always loving. She’s called Hickory County home for over 40 years, and she treasures the peaceful “lake life” she’s built there.

I’m asking for help so she can focus on healing—not on how she’ll pay the bills. Every donation, every share, and every prayer matters. Let’s rally around this beautiful soul who’s given so much to everyone else.
