Support Cynthia Swinney's Cancer Battle #SwinneyWomanStrong

My name is Lindsay Tanner. I am the daughter of Cynthia and Mike Swinney. My father passed away on April 30th, 2023, leaving my mother with only her income. Less than a year later, on February 5th, 2024, she was diagnosed with cancer in her right kidney and ureter. She had surgery to remove her kidney and ureter and underwent 8 rounds of two different chemotherapy drugs. After her chemo treatments, she was all clear. Unfortunately, in January 2025, the doctors found a tumor on the left side of my mom's abdomen by her aortic valve, meaning she couldn't have surgery. So, she's now doing a total of 34 rounds of radiation, plus 3 more rounds of chemotherapy.

My mom still works full-time if she's not sick or too tired to go. And she will always make up her hours if she can't work. She has to maintain a certain amount of hours to keep her health insurance! I've never met a stronger woman. However, we see the toll it's taken on her body and miss our healthy, loving, heart-of-gold mom.

I want my mother to focus on her treatments and health care and not worry about bills. She's the glue to the family and would do anything for anybody. She's lived in Hickory County for over 40 years and loves the lake life where she's at. We're asking the community and anybody for donations to help.
