Support Crystal Sheville's Battle Against Cancer
Spende geschützt
This is Jodie Sheville, Crystal Sheville's daughter. As a lot of you know, Crystal was taken ill on 7/15 due to doctors finding a blood clot in her right leg. She continued to be in pain in her abdomen so the doctors had an ultrasound done. They proceeded to find a mass on her liver and a mucosal polyp in her gallbladder. The doctor scheduled a CT scan the same day but unfortunately, they had to wait on insurance to approve. Crystal had to wait a full week before ending up in the ER. The family was directed by the doctor to go ahead and take her which the CT scan was given.
On 7/22 she was given IV pain medication as well as fluids. The doctor came back and said she had an 8cm liver mass and informed her it was cancer. She went to Wesley Long Cancer Center the next day to meet with Dr. Dorsey and his team for a diagnosis. At that time the doctor stated that she could have 3 different forms of cancer. It is the cancer that forms from the liver in the bile ducts, or a cancer that has metastasized from origin in her body, or the type of benign tumor that formed on her liver. The mass is so large that it has formed over her second and third lobe in the liver which sits right underneath her stomach, causing her to be in severe pain. The pain has caused her struggle to eat or rest efficiently. The doctors had set her up with a liver biopsy on 8/6 then to the cancer center for fluids and pain control.
When Crystal got home she was in so much pain from the biopsy that she was tired and restless. On the night of 8/6 she got up and was wandering through the house not knowing what was going on. On Wednesday her sister Karen noticed she was very lethargic and confused. We then contacted her doctor at the cancer center and informed her what was going on. She suggested she be brought in for labs. While at the clinic they did a stroke screen on her and she wasn't able to pass. The doctor then decided to send her to the ER for a CT scan of her head. The results showed that she did have a stroke that affected her vision and short term memory. They kept her in the hospital on Thursday and Friday on a Heparin Drip. Crystal got to come home on Saturday but is still in extreme pain from the tumor.
The next follow up appointment is scheduled for 8/13 at the cancer center to receive results and what treatments are available. Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy is what they are wanting to do because the tumor is so big. They can't go in and take it out until it has been shrunk. There is no option for radiation due to it being on her liver. Crystal is used to working 2 jobs on the go every day. She is a hard worker, great wife, and mother. The current insurance that Crystal has, the deductible is $6000. This is not including the continuous unplanned Dr or ER visits. She has a long journey ahead of her. She has always been the first to lend a helping hand. The family is asking everyone to please pray for Crystal's journey through this. If anyone is able to help donate to get Crystal through these rough times it is greatly appreciated. We will keep everyone up to date as much as we can.
