Support Charlotte and Her Family

Hi, my name is Tara and I am fundraising on behalf of my wonderful friend Charlotte, a 41 year old Mum, wife and friend who in 2019 was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable cancer called Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST).

Charlotte was diagnosed with GIST when she and her husband Simon were undergoing fertility investigations in the hope of having a second child. What was first thought to be an ovarian cyst turned out to be a much larger growth on Charlotte's small intestine, which have since grown, and multiplied.

GIST is a rare type of cancer that occurs in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, most commonly in the stomach or small intestine. It is generally not responsive to chemotherapy or radiation therapy but rather by targeted medications and surgery. While effective for a time, these medications have now stopped working and Charlotte is about to undergo a radical surgery to remove the affected organs.

Charlotte will have a long recovery period and won't be able to work for a considerable amount of time, and this is where you come in! This disease is putting huge financial pressure on the family, and if you can donate, every dollar helps.
