I was recently diagnosed with cancer, and my world has changed overnight. My surgery is scheduled for February 19, 2026, and I’ll need about three weeks to recover. After that, I’ll begin an estimated six months of radiation and chemotherapy. As the main provider for my household, this diagnosis has brought not only emotional stress but also a significant financial burden. My employer does not offer or contribute to disability insurance, so once I use up my annual leave, I’ll be left without any income during my treatment and recovery.
