On Monday, November 17, tragedy struck the apartment/townhome community of Courtyards at Fishing Creek in Chesapeake Beach, MD. At approximately 6:30 am, a massive fire broke out, destroying the homes of many. Fortunately, everyone made it out safely. However, all items were lost, and it’s going to be a long road ahead to gain back what was lost, including finding a new place to call home. One of those affected is a good friend of mine who would give the shirt off her back to help others. The only items she left home with were the clothes she was wearing and her cell phone, which she used to call 911. She may have lost her material items, but I would love to show her that she has the love and support from others to start rebuilding what she lost. All donations are greatly appreciated, and no amount is too small. I know that we as a village can help get her through this. Thank you, and may God bless you all.
