Hello everyone, this is for our youngest sister Brittany Bakken. Last October, she started having medical problems. After many weeks and multiple tests, she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. During one of the CT scans, a tumor was found on her thymus gland. On June 2, 2025, her myasthenia gravis had caused her to become very weak and malnourished, to the point where she was placed in ICU and had to spend the next 5 days having plasma infusions. After completing the infusions, the doctors felt that she would be strong enough to go ahead and have the tumor and thymus gland removed. Surgery was then scheduled for the next Monday, which was June 9, 2025. The operation was going fine; they came out and told everyone the operation was done and they were just finishing up with her. They asked us to move to the waiting room on the floor she would be going to, and then that's when they came back and said there was a problem and she was bleeding out. The doctors had to make a split-second decision and opened her chest in order to stop her internal bleeding. She then spent the next 5 days in ICU, only to develop a blood clot in her arm. The doctors now have her on a blood thinner to hopefully dissolve the blood clot so another surgery is not needed, but it is a wait and see. Brittany was the only income her family had and she will be unable to work for the next month until she gets released from her doctors. Brittany and her family appreciate any donations that you may give to help with their monthly bills, medical expenses, and groceries. Thank you.
