Support Bonnie Robinson's Recovery from Hurricane Damage
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Bonnie Robinson. I am in Western North Carolina, in Old Fort, a small town outside of Asheville, devastated by Hurricane Helene. Luckily, despite two tributaries from the Catawba River running through our property, my home was spared. However, we have a lot of damage. We have water damage inside my front door/entryway, and my back stairs and deck were ripped out. My AC compressor unit/heat pump and water pressure tank were submerged and probably need to be replaced. My outdoor barn/shed floated into the side of my house, damaging the house, and the shed needs to be moved off of the house and releveled. We are still without power and have no updates or estimates when power will be restored. Since I live in a small town with a small population, we are not a priority. We have a small generator to run the refrigerator, but we must use it sparingly as we must drive 30 minutes to an hour to get gas.
We can't work at the moment, so I'm asking for help to pay for the gas for the generator, food, drinking water, repairs and cleanup. I know a new heat pump and cooling system will be costly, and we will face cold weather next week. Also, we can get my mom out via an ATV, but she is on the other side of the river, and her bridge is gone, as you can see below.
Thank you for considering donating. Every little bit will help.
