Bill Knoble needs our help!
He is a retired Navy SEAL, former Leap Frog, and former National Mentor who has had a hand in manning the Navy SPECOPS communities in service to his country with passion and conviction
Last Wednesday evening, Bill had neck surgery. Three vertebrae were removed and replaced and then attached to three existing fused vertebrae. Here’s the outcome from that:
-Following the surgery, a blood clot developed around an area of Bill’s spine.
-Due to his vitals, the doctors wouldn’t operate until they were improved.
-By the time his vitals were improved, this clot had moved towards his brain.
-The result being a severe spinal cord injury, in which he is currently paralyzed from his shoulders down and is being kept on a ventilator.
-In this next couple of days, he’ll have a tracheostomy with a PEG tube inserted (feeding tube directly into stomach).
-Following, he’ll be transferred to a spinal cord intensive rehabilitation facility.
Bill is married. They live in South Carolina. He has a 29 y/o daughter visiting and on scene. Both are ensuring he gets the encouragement and emotional support in this critical situation. It won’t be easy .
Bill received his initial vertebrae injuries while being a member of the Navy Leap Frogs and coming into an LZ way too “hot”. Since then, he’s had many additional complications and chronic pain. He is a beloved SEAL, friend to all, admired for his sense of humor and brother in arms in any circumstance to newfound friends or old.
In this crisis we ask that you keep him & his family in your prayers and thoughts and consider contributing funds to supplement a difficult road to recovery with the best possible out come.
Thank you!
