Support Benjamin Lilly's Fight Against Cancer

Hi everyone,

My name is Rae and I'm raising money to help my dad, Benjamin Lilly, beat cancer. Over the last year, he's dealt with mystery pain and a slew of unhelpful medical professionals as he has fought to receive appropriate attention and care. He's had to fiercely advocate for himself to find a doctor that would take him seriously and find the cause of the pain, which we now know is stage four throat cancer. He's already had two surgeries and is now undergoing both intensive radiation and chemotherapy. Because of the long delay in getting the diagnosis, he's already in a tough place with his physical, mental, and financial health. It's a long journey from here to possible recovery; the treatment will be difficult and expensive. While there are many factors adding to his stress and ours, the financial strain in particular is making his recovery harder, so every dollar donated is another dollar he won't feel like he needs to worry about.

He is currently on medical leave from his job as a catastrophe adjuster for State Farm. He has been away from work since April. My mom will be mostly working from home to take care of him while he fights this, and my sister and I will be working as much as we can to try to pay the bills, but I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome with chronic migraines and am not physically able to work a full-time job, and she's on the autism spectrum so it's difficult for her, as well.

Please please please help us help him. He's always been there for me and my sister, taking care of us and being an advocate, and now he needs us to be that for him. For him to have his best chance at success and survival, we need all the help we can get to alleviate his stress, especially over the medical debt that he is already accruing. All money raised will go directly to paying his medical bills and living expenses.
