Support Baby Evie’s fight
Spende geschützt
My friend and fellow nurse Heather Sanders and I met through One Lungers Facebook group. We have shared our stories of our miracle daughters and supported each other in this unique challenge of raising babies with one lung. It breaks my heart to share she is experiencing a similar situation we were in last summer with our daughter, Madison.
Evie’s breathing quickly deteriorated this week causing her experienced mom to rush her to the Emergency department of the same hospital where she is a pediatric ICU nurse. What seemed to be another respiratory virus soon turned into something much worse. Evie’s condition required her to be intubated, however she was unable to be ventilated. She was then placed on ECMO, a machine to oxygenate her blood externally. She is in the ICU, sedated and on life support while doctors decide if she will need surgery or what the next step will be. Surgery would be extremely risky but also necessary. Likely it is the only option. Mom, Heather was denied FMLA and father, Jeremy has no sick time left. Heather dedicates her life to taking care of babies and children in most dire need and it’s time that we take care of her and her family during their time of need. If you can’t donate, please say a prayer for baby Evie. Our family is intimately aware of the power of prayer. If you are a person of faith, please pray for the hands of the doctors involved, the comfort of baby Evie, and the faithfulness of her family. They just want to hold their baby girl again, in good health and to share her light with the world.
I will post updates when possible.
