Help Us Bring Azarel Home – Legal Fund for Custody Battle
My name is Ian Shives, and my family is fighting to free my niece, Azarel Shives, from an unjust situation. Azarel is a loving 16-year-old girl who recently lost her mother, my sister, Jennifer Shives. Jennifer was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and a devoted mother who made her final wishes clear: Azarel was to live with our parents, Shawn and Nephlen Shives, who have helped raise her and provided her with a stable, loving home.
Tragically, Jennifer passed away in December 2024 while in the process of divorcing her legally separated husband, Oliver “Jay” Glasgow. Despite Jennifer’s will and explicit wishes, Jay fought us for custody of Azarel—and won. He now has custody, even though we believe his motives are not in Azarel’s best interest.
My family have spent over $100,000 in legal fees trying to keep Azarel safe and in the care of her rightful guardians—our parents. But the battle isn’t over. We are preparing to fight again, to bring Azarel home to Pennsylvania, where she belongs.
We need your help. Legal fees, administrative costs, and the fight for justice are overwhelming, but we refuse to give up on Azarel. Please consider donating—every dollar brings us closer to ensuring my sister’s wishes are honored and that Azarel is returned to a loving, stable home.
