Support arts education and well-being in Rocinha!

Projeto Pérola aims to promote cultural enrichment, social transformation, and territorial integration through arts and education program for youth in Rio's favelas and public school students, educators, and community agents in one of the biggests slums of Brazil, the Favela da Rocinha.

We envision more marginalized individuals accessing and seizing the opportunity to learn and grow through art, shaping new possibilities and narratives in their communities.

Campaign Goal:

With an initial target of USD 2,400, within a period of 3 months, our campaign aims to secure funding for essential resources and personnel, ensuring the continuity and expansion of our initiatives.

Next Steps:

Our future goals include presenting a new fundraising target, expanding our production team, hiring more art educators, organizing events, strengthening educational programs, and fostering collaborative networks with renowned artists and cultural institutions.

Oju is an activist, interdisciplinary artist, writer, and popular educator committed to challenging systems of oppression through art and education. With a diverse background spanning education, arts, and culture, Oju brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the Pérola Project, dedicated to improving society and fostering well-being for all.
