Support Anthony Hertzler’s Recovery

On September 22, my oldest brother Anthony sustained a serious concussion in a bicycle accident while in Minnesota for the funeral of his wife’s mother. His brothers-in-law found him unconscious on the trail after being launched over the handle-bars on a jump. He spent a night in the hospital but was able to be with Abigail during her mother’s funeral. Afterward, my sister drove him and his family home to Oklahoma. By then they were all sick with COVID.

Ten days after the accident, and still recovering from COVID, he was admitted to the hospital again—unaware of his surroundings and unable to respond to simple commands or requests. After many tests, prayers, and tears, he was lucid the next morning. He was discharged on a low dose of seizure medication, with orders not to drive or work on heights for six months.

Anthony has five lively kids, from 3 to 13 years old. Weekends often found him hiking with his children on unmarked trails in the Ozark National Forest. He’s been an adventurer and bicycling enthusiast since his youth.

For the next six months, his regular employment in construction an hour from home won’t be possible. This will be a huge lifestyle adjustment for him and his family.

We know that many of you would love to help. Here’s where you can make a critical difference for Anthony and his family:

The bills need to be paid while Dad recovers. He’s been off work for two weeks, and for a few more weeks, any kind of work—mental or physical—will be impossible for him. He still has bleeding and swelling on his brain.

Please share what you can. We’d love to raise 20,000 to make the next few months easier for them all.

Whether or not you give, please pray with us for a full recovery.
