Hello/Hola/Bienvenido,
My name is Anna Grace Littleton; I am 27, born and raised in a small town called Simpsonville, SC. I have attended Brookwood Church since before I was born, and it has played a large role in who I am today. When I was a sophomore in high school, I had friends who went to the Dominican with Andy and Pamela the year before, and I wanted to go so badly, but I was unable to. The following year, I felt the tug again and sent out letters to family members, and within 2 months, my trip was fully paid for. In that moment, I could feel that this was something special that God was stirring up. When I look back at that young teenager about to start her junior year in high school, I am in awe of how God can take one trip and turn it into the unthinkable. That 16-year-old girl never thought that 10 years later, I would say that in those years, I have been back to the Dominican on 6 mission trips, a Dominican wedding, and Casa Misionera’s 1st graduation.
This past year was something special. Not only was it the 1st time since COVID that I was getting to go back, but it was also a trip that God used to change me in a way that I was never expecting and could never put into words. I met Nelson Paulino and his students at Casa Misionera, got to reconnect with my Dominican family that I have not seen since 2019, and God changed something in my heart, leaving me with this terrifying but amazing feeling. I had no idea what God was doing, but then I took that jump because something was pulling me into ministry, and so I sat down with Andy and Pam and began to pray.
After many prayers, meetings, conversations, and battles over the last 8 months, I am a little over a month away from taking that leap of faith and going to serve in the Dominican with Nelson and his amazing future leaders of tomorrow at Casa Misionera for June and July. This is truly a test of my faith and trust as I leave my full-time job as a probation officer that I have had for the past 4 years to fully trust God in these next steps. I do not know what God has in store for me, but I know that God has a path and plan for me, and it starts with trusting Him fully with my finances, job, safety, health, and future. My hope over the summer is to build a deeper relationship with Him, share all the amazing things that God is doing through Casa Misionera, show each of you ways that you can help from home, and share my story on how I am learning to put all my trust in Him and letting Him show me what my purpose is. I ask each of you to pray for this walk of faith I am about to embark on.
