Alison is someone who brings warmth, kindness, and strength
to everyone around her. She’s the kind of person who shows
up when others need help, always putting family, friends and community first.
There's a saying, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him about your plans”.
Alison had many plans, one most importantly was to get married later this year but because of her diagnosis and the urgency to start treatment immediately, she and Rich were married three days before her first chemo treatment.
Spending her honeymoon receiving chemotherapy was never part of her plans but it is what had to be done to give her the best chance in living a long and healthy married life.
Now, Alison is facing one of the scariest and toughest challenges of her life — a diagnosis of HER2-positive breast cancer.
Alison is a woman of faith. She has approached this battle with courage and determination, but she wants to give herself the best fighting chance by including the Perjeta targeted therapy which tag teams with chemo and other treatments to attack the HER2 growth receptor, specifically to help slow or stop
tumor growth. Her oncologist has recommended a total of 17 treatments. Alison would like to do as many treatments as she can afford. A single treatment costs approximately $1,800 (the manufacturer support program already covers 60%). Unfortunately, Alison does not meet the criteria for medical
coverage through government programs.
