Why should you donate?

Together, it is our responsibility to create lasting social change. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) have been the target of horrific and heartbreaking violence across the US. Too often, these attacks are ignored and underreported. We must condemn these attacks and amplify AAPI voices by finding ways to uplift, empower, and protect the AAPI community.

The Support the AAPI Community Fund aims to do just that, addressing the urgent issues that face the AAPI community as well as broader, systemic problems. With the donations received through this Fund, GoFundMe.org will issue grants to trusted AAPI nonprofit organizations working to rectify the racial inequalities in our society and genrally support the AAPI community.

Who benefits from your donation?

Donations will support verified charity organizations across the US that empower and uplift the AAPI community, with initiatives such as increased community safety and support for those affected by violence.

In 2021, this fundraiser and movement was created in partnership with a cross-sectional advisory group of AAPI advocacy and activist leaders, including APIAVote's Christine Chen, Define American's Jose Antonio Vargas, and formerly BLD PWR's Lacy Lew Nguyen Wright; cultural leaders Phillip Lim, Gold House, and CAPE. The advisory group provides their expertise on recommended grant recipients, as needed.

This fund remains an ongoing initiative and is actively seeking support. Thank you for making tax-deductible donations to this important program.
