Support 9848 Gearview's Journey to the World Championships!
Beschermde donatie
We are FTC Team 9848 GearView, a passionate group of young robotics enthusiasts from Clearview Regional High School. We are committed to innovation, community service, and STEM education. Our team operates under a horizontal leadership structure, emphasizing collaboration, mentorship, and skill development across various disciplines such as computer-aided design (CAD), mechanical engineering, and computer programming.
Our Journey
This year we endeavored to build on the success of our prior season and to create an even more complex and competitive robot for this year's FIRST Tech Challenge, "Into the Deep". With dedication, late nights, and countless iterations of our robot "Sharkbait", we have again captured the highest honors at both our League and State Championships - The INSPIRE Award! This award is for the best overall team and it secured our advancement to the 2025 World Championships in Houston!
Our team is not just about building robots, we are deeply committed to mentorship of New Jersey teams, hosting educational workshops, and connecting and learning from STEM professionals. Our G.E.A.R. Up South Jersey (Guiding Educators and Advancing Robotics) initiative aims to increase the number of robotics teams in our area and to provide support for their ongoing growth and success.
And this year is particularly special as we are celebrating the 10th YEAR of robotics at Clearview. We set ambitious goals to start new teams (we started 5 already!), to increase our outreach (we have reached >68k with our efforts), and to support the sustainability of FIRST robotics in Southern New Jersey (we spend 13 hours weekly mentoring other teams!).
Why We Need Your Help
The World Championships is an amazing experience and we are excited to return to Houston! To make this dream a reality for all our members, we need your support. Planning for competition in Houston involves significant expenses including team travel, transportation of our robot and materials, accommodations, and competition fees - totaling an estimated $20,000.
How You'll Make a Difference
Your contribution will not just help us compete on a global stage but also sustain our mission to advocate for STEM education, inspire our community, and develop lifelong skills. Here's what your support enables us to achieve:
Participation in the World Championships: Competing against top teams from around the globe, showcasing our robot, and learning from the best minds in robotics.
Continued STEM Outreach: Empowering more educational workshops, mentorship programs, and community service projects.
Innovation and Learning: Funding our research, design, and development processes for future competitions and projects.
Thank you for considering supporting FTC Team 9848 GearView . Every contribution, big or small, makes a profound difference. For more information, questions, or how to lend your support to the team in other ways, contact Robin Dole (volunteer parent coach and mentor) or visit the team's website .
