Hi,
I am Nikki Durham Founder of Sunvalley Community Resource Center along with my partner Co-founder Jerome Finney. Our mission is to be a lighthouse in our community and to provide inspiration, hope, and resources to those in need. Sunvalley Community Resource Center is located at 3422 Jeffersonville, Rd, Macon, Ga 31217.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued an Order stopping evictions based on nonpayment of rent. This Order was effective on September 4, 2020, and protects tenants from eviction until December 31, 2020, unless it is extended. This Order protects you if you rent the place where you live.
Landlords along with Property Management companies still were able to file those eviction notices. Some counties in Georgia are having zoom court hearings and people are being evicted. After December 31, 2020, all evictions will resume statewide. Our goal is to assist as many families as we can from being evicted. We do not want anyone on the street, during this Pandemic. We are trying to prevent this second wave which per the media will be worse than the first wave.
With the funds that we are raising, we would like to assist with paying the past months' rent and work with the Landlord or Property management company to see if we can make those payments. Our goal is to make sure that these families stay out of shelters, hotels, becoming homeless, etc. Due to the pandemic, a lot of people were laid off some home caregivers, food service employees along some public service workers were laid off. Which cause them to become behind on their rent along with utility bills.
Our goal is to reach out to the landlords or property management companies to see if we can make those payments so they can remain in their homes. This will cause a strain on the kids due to some are being homeschooled.
We are asking for donations from our community this is a time-sensitive matter due to December 31 is only weeks away.
We are asking for 5, 10, 20 dollar donations any little bit helps. Please share this with your family, friends, coworkers, etc.
We are assisting families in all counties if you are in the Macon area we will set an appointment for you to come into the office. If you live outside of the Macon, area we will meet via Zoom and all documents will have to be sent via email.
We will start excepting applications starting on January 2, 2021. The requirements are as followed.

We would like to thank you all for your support on our previous Community giveback events the Back to School Book Bag and Food Box giveaway and our Breast Cancer Balloon Release. We hope to see you all at Our Community Curbside Christmas Party which we will be providing gifts along with food for the community. This event will be held in Macon, Ga on December 21 from 12pm until 2pm at our office. We love our community and what we do.
This fundraiser is not limited to Macon residents this fundraiser is statewide.
