New Projector for Sunset Ellis Drive-In

Firstly, We just wanted to say we’re sorry we had to take a moment to pause the fundraiser for the Sunset Ellis Drive-In. We got excited to help out a treasured landmark and didn’t take the time to talk with the owners and figure out their needs.
Unfortunately vandalism and frequent repairs recently have caused the family trouble with maintaining operations.
Jenny and I sat down and had a conversation with Anthony and his daughter Antionette about what will be needed to preserve the longevity of the drive-in. What they are looking to do is purchase a good used projector that will cost $65,000. This will guarantee summer fun for our community for years to come.
The hope is to raise enough money to be able to make this a reality for all of us. In the interim there is a repair person on the way as of today, Wednesday July 13th. He is due to arrive around 1 am to repair the current projector. The hope is, he can repair it to last through this season.
A personal Thank you from the Ellis’ go out to the patrons that where in attendance when the projector went out. There was not one complaint and some even gave part of their refund toward cost for repair. They are so thankful for the community support over the years and hopefully for years to come.
