Sunil's University Lawsuit Fund

My name is Sunil Joshi and I am a biomedical researcher, holding PhD and DVM, and teacher in immunology, pathology, cancer, vaccines and bioengineering.  My wife works partime in H&R block as a teacher and tax professional. I have three children and we live in Southern Virginia. In 2010, I won the prestigious Bill & Melinda Gates Grand Challange Exploration International Award for developing a bioengineering innovation in Malaria Vaccine development and was employed in Oklahoma University. To continue my independent research, I joined the Old Dominion University faculty on a tenure-track in July 2013. In 2015, my contract was not renewed due to falsified information regarding my publication and research progress. The report also stated misleading information of my teaching and course curiculum development, despite positive feedback from my students. It was also viciously cited that I was wasting time traveling abroad, though I was abroad to present my work as an award of achievement. Before this incident I was the sole earner, but now, unfortunately, I am no longer employed. Many would believe that because of I have more than 20 years of research and teaching experience, it would not be difficult to get a job, however that is not the case.  Getting a job with the expererience that I have is not easy at all and it is even more difficult due to the novelty of my research projects. I am currently informing you of this because I am raising funds to file a lawsuit against the Old DominionUniversity administration in Norfolk Federal Court for my mistreatment as part of the faculty as I am currently unable to pay for the lawsuit myself. This lawsuit is time sensitive and I need to raise the funding within the next one month. These funds will directly support the fees of the attorny, who is very willing to help bring justice for me and my family. The financial support will allow this case to bring justice, and, more importantly, it will also help the community to understand why state university/academia allow the creation of a hostile work environment by providing immunity to people of power in the university system no matter the offense. In my case, I was not even provided college/department tenure committee review report. I strongly believe it is my moral responsibility to stop white collar crime that happens to many researchers and professors worldwide by bringing the culprits to court in front of the law. My family and I will be sincerely grateful for your kind support in this genuine fight and with your support, I can fulfilll my dreams to become a true scientist and teacher.
