For the Kim Family

Dear Friends & Family,

If I may ask for your compassion as I share this story of my friend and her mother, Sun Kim.

Mrs. Kim’s health has been deteriorating over the last three years and is suffering from diabetes, heart disease, and Chronic Kidney disease.

Over the last three years, I have witnessed Esther taking care of her mother. As a caretaker, your job is to physically, emotionally support, and serve the person that needs your assistance.

As a believer in Christ, I truly believe this role was set for Esther to take care of her mother during her time of need. Her everyday life was Day in and Day out, with multiple doctor visits, setting up appointments with different doctors, and assisting her in every way to the best of her abilities.

Living life with alarms going off to take her mom's vitals, making sure to give her medications/insulin, and set up/connect her mother to a dialysis machine. She worked hard to maintain a balanced life but understood that she would have to make some sacrifices to keep her mother alive, which is what she dedicated. Mrs. Kim is a fighter, and she worked on gaining strength after her open heart bypass surgery.

Unfortunately, she faced her first stroke in March of last year, and her kidneys have been failing even though she has transitioned from hemodialysis into Peritoneal dialysis. Mrs. Kim's health started to decline further after her recent stroke this month, which adds up to three strokes within the last year and a half.

Upon Mrs. Kim's wishes, after trying her best to care for her and discussing that further care would involve a high risk for more complications.

In order to have a quality of life in her remaining days, Mrs. Kim wishes to pass in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Sometimes we find ourselves doing the best we can, and it may seem as if it is not working out, but the Lord never breaks his promise. God promises hope.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

We are creating this page to help lift the family's financial burden of Mrs. Kim’s final agreements, and medical bills, and to help the household as they celebrate her life. But most importantly we ask for your prayers.

Mrs. Kim has a husband, Joel Person, and five children, Paul, John, Esther, Grace, and Job Kim. She has two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law, Jawon Lee, Cathrine Marrica, and Randy Vo. Mrs. Kim also has five beautiful grandchildren, Isabel, Anabel, Marabel, Mary, and Jodi.

안녕하세요

친구와 어머니의 이야기를 나누려 합니다. 친구 에스더의 어머니는 당뇨에 심장병에 만성 신장 질환까지 앓고 계십니다. 지난 3년간 건강은 더 악화 되었고 더 이상 나아질 가능성이 없다고 합니다.

병원 예약부터 병원 방문까지 이 의사 저 의사 만나가며 어머니의 병 간호가 에스더에 일상이 되버렸습니다. 에스더는 그 3년동안 어머니의 간병을 들었고 정말 육체적으로 그리고 정신적으로 돌보아야 하는 일이기에 고생하는걸 많이 목격 했습니다. 그리스도를 믿는 사람으로서 이 역할은 정말 우리 하나님이 에스더에게 주신 역할이라 믿고 따르며 어머니를 위해 헌신을 다 했습니다. 에스더의 일상은 하루도 안 빼먹고 아침부터 밤까지 어머니를 돌보는거 였습니다.

약 챙겨드리랴 투석기 설치 해드리랴 하루에도 알람은 몇번식 울려가며 에스더는 어머니를 위해 자기의 삶을 희생하고 전념했습니다. 에스더 어머니는 심장 개복 수술까지 해 가시며 정말 건강을 위해 싸우시고 열심히 노력 하셨습니다. 하지만 불행하게도 작년 3월에 첫 뇌졸중이 오셨고 신장도 계속 쇠약해져 갔습니다. 1년반만에 뇌졸중은 3번이나 오셨고 건강은 계속되어 악화돼 가고 계십니다. 어머니의 추가 치료는 합병증의 위험이 더 높다는 의사들의 판단으로 집에서 가족들과 나머지 삶을 보내시는걸로 뜻하셨습니다.

이 가족의 재정비와 의료비를 돕기 위해 이 페이지를 만들었습니다. 그러나 여러분의 기도가 가장 간절하고 부탁 드립니다. 때때로 우리는 우리가 할 수 있는 최선을 다한다 해도 뜻대로 되지 않을때가 많습니다. 하지만 하나님은 절대로 약속을 어기시는 분이 아닌걸 믿으며 희망을 약속 하십니다.

"우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라.” 로마서 8장 28절
