A mother's goodbye

Nobody's perfect....nobody...we all have our faults, our secrets, our guilty pleasures, our bad habits, our addictions, unfortunately some people have it worse than others, but that reflects in NO WAY shape or form on someone's character....Uncle Eric, I truly believe you never had a fair chance at being "whole" achieving your full potential or being the man you always had the opportunity to be.  People will always judge, but our family will always know the true kind of man you were.  I wish there was something that you could have found along your journey to be motivating enough for you to fix your pain.  But that part of you will never reflect on the person you really were.  Some battles are just too hard to fight alone.  I looked up to you - the real you.  Rest in Paradise, no more suffering.....I love you.  Your nephew, Corey (schween)....

My grandmother fought for years to try and save her son from the mental pain and depression he experienced since he was child.  He was diagnosed with tourettes and other mental health issues at a young age,  as with many youth, he tried to help himself through his pain by self-medicating instead of relying and trusting on the help of others.  Self-medicating turned to a stronger addiction and his battles were many, including stigma from those who have never been touched by the disease of mental illness and addiction.  Now, my grandparents have to bury their son and because of the restrictions of medicaid and their limited income as seniors, it is difficult to give him a proper funeral.  

On behalf of my family I am asking in lui of flowers that perhaps you can help with the cost of his funeral.
