Suiting Up For the Future

I met these young men last week at a community based non-profit in Roxbury serving youth who are most at-risk in their neighborhoods. We talked about the criminal justice system and what we thought would help young men like them stay out of the pipeline. 

Their answer: creating a new pipeline towards success. When I asked them what that looked like, they said being exoposed to positive role models that would understand their stories and see them as potential instead of as problems. 

To that end, I am going to take them to a networking event of professional men of color from around the state of MA at the end of July. I want to get them suited up for the occasion. We all know the power of positivity a suit can yield, both in the wearer, but also in the perception of the people they meet. 

I need about $3000 to make this happen. If you follow any of my social media (@adamjohnfoss) you know this is something I fundamentally believe in and have posted myriad stories of the impact its had on young men's lives. They deserve this as they enter their next chapter of life; resources should not define whether they succeed or not. Thank you, sincerely.
