March 16th, 2020 was our last day open since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The closing wasn't an easy decision to make. But I could not, in good conscience, continue to operate knowing I could be putting my employees or customers at risk.
The hardest part of the decision was balancing my employee's safety with their livelihood. They can now be home and not risk getting sick or spreading the disease at work. But tomorrow is their last paycheck. I simply can't continue payroll while the bakery isn't operating at full steam.
So now I am humbly asking you to think about how my employees have played a little part in your life. Did they remember your drink and start making it before you asked? Did they decorate a birthday cake that made your 3 year old squeal? Did they make a croissant that transported you back to Paris? Did they smile and tell you to have a good day? Please consider a donation to help them with living expenses during the closure.
