Send Freire Charter students to Costa Rica!

**The amount has been adjusted so we can focus on raising funds to be able to pay for an extra fun excursion for the group!! This would allow students the chance to see something different and exciting, that unfortunately, costs $25 extra a person. **

This fundraiser was created to raise money for students attending Freire Charter's Costa Rica abroad trip that will happen during Spring Break 2024. The student cost for this trip is almost $3000, which is all-inclusive and covers all food, hotel, airfare, transportation, and activities during the trip. During the trip, students will be exploring three different regions of Costa Rica. They'll meet local students, visit the La Fortuna waterfall and go on adventures such snorkeling and ziplining through a canopy of trees in the Guanacaste rainforest, among other things! Students also have an opportunity to receive college credit from this trip. The school is helping to facilitate this opportunity, but all costs fall on the students and their families to pay for their ability to go on the trip. Currently, about 30 students are signed up and they could all use your help!

The proceeds from your donations will help offset student costs for the trip, which would be huge for our students!! Anything helps. Whatever we raise through this gofundme will directly be deducted from each student's balance.

Freire Charter High School is a college-preparatory school that serves teens from all over the city of Philadelphia, largely from underserved and underprivileged backgrounds; 99% of our students are economically disadvantaged and 99% of our students participate in the free lunch program.

Students at Freire have never experienced an abroad trip to practice Spanish and truly be immersed in a new culture- the students attending this trip are very excited to go and experience some of the joy and fun of travel. 100% of our students deserve rewarding and different experiences during their high school years, so hopefully, with the success of this trip, we can continue to offer such opportunities in years to come.
