STUCKEMAN CRAFT BIENNALE 001 - "SITTING APPARATUS"
Donación protegida
Over the past few years, students and faculty have worked diligently in the Stuckeman shop to craft “sitting apparatus” (chairs, stools, etc.) of their own design in studio, elective, & independent study courses or independently outside of a class. This work has gone inadvertently unnoticed by much of the Stuckeman School. After finally building up a large enough collection, it is time to display this hard work. This interdisciplinary exhibition will display 12+ sitting devices by both faculty and students of the Dept. of Architecture & Dept. of Landscape Architecture.
The goal of this exhibition of Stuckeman work is to expose the entire school to the potentials for innovational design in the basement. We hope that by witnessing the work of current and past students, the entirety of Stuckeman (faculty & students) is inspired to craft a “sitting apparatus” of their own, being shown what can be fabricated in the wood+metal shop. Ultimately, the hope is that this will be one of many exhibitions displaying craft at the Stuckeman Family Building. As the tradition of craft/making, that has been fading in the last few years, is restored.
We ask alumni, current students and faculty, or anyone with a passion for physical fabrication to donate in order to offset the cost of materials for the exhibit from the student & faculty organizers. Suggested donation is $20. We will be hosting a ceremony on opening night, March 11th, 2024 in the Stuckeman Jury Space with light refreshments and welcome all donors to attend and experience the exhibit. The exhibition will remain open until May 5th, 2024. If you are unable to attend the ceremony, please contact us to coordinate a tour from one of the student organizers (Esmael Maleej, John Martin, Andrew Ferreri).
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made to GoFundMe.
